Been going here since the 90s. Best margaritas in San Diego in my opinion... Strong but taste great. Their food is ultra consistent and very good. The staff always is great and super friendly. This is my favorite Mexican place. My friends get me gift certificates for it I like it so much. It's a old place that looks run down but don't let that fool you, it's alive with great good drinks and a extremely nice staff. You will be pleased. Prices are fair. Though not inexpensive. Highly recommend the house pitcher of margaritas in the rocks!

Best Margaritas in town, free appetizers at the bar with your drinks. The Cheese Enchilada and Chile Relleno combo with rice and beans is one of the most delicious I've encountered.

Good authentic food with friendly service

Its typical Californian Mexican food. It's good but the environment is also nice too making the dining experience even better. The best part though is the service. The waiters are outstanding at what they do and it's done with a guitar playing in the background with some beautiful Mexican songs. Its relaxing durring the meal. There is a full bar with various flavors margaritas including banana flavor. Their is also sea food, shrimp etc. And if that's not appealing they also have a basic cheeseburger fries salads etc. Our table did wobble so for that, one star lost. Nothing worse than a rocking table with food. But other than that. Awesome place

Perfect service 5stars, food is good 4 stars, the beef hard shell taco was mushy in my mouth and the meat had a chicken flavor.

Nice presentation but very bland, not what you expect Mexican food to be. Pricey, and for less money i could get way better tasting food at a taco shop. Beer is ice cold and the chips and salsa were great! Food needs a lot of work!

I love this place. The Margaritas are always spot-on, and the service is great. It's a family-owned restaurant so you can tell that they put a lot of love into what they do. I've never had a bad experience here.

SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES. Marieta's is a staple of East County and has soldiered on with an iron will through this trial by fire of a year. We've been ordering to-go from these folks as often as we can (get the Barbacoa tacos, by the way). It would be a shame to lose this restaurant and for the fine folks who work there to lose their livelihoods, so please by all means do anything you can to patronize this iconic location.

The food is good. I had Arroz con Pollo. It wasn't what I was expecting. The chicken should have been cooked in the rice. So it was chicken with veggies and a side of rice.

Update 5/10/2020 - We got Margaritas to go, excellent tasting and good tequila. I highly recommend these.We brought my wife's Aunt to celebrate her birthday. We came here because they had live music. We had the guy singing at our table for several songs, including Happy Birthday. All in all we had excellent service and the food was good. We made a reservation, but it looks like it wasn't needed.

The Margaritas and food are very good! We've been going here for years. I don't remember ever having a bad experience at Marieta's, great staff.

We have dined here dozens of times in the last 8 years. The food is always good. the staff is always cordial and efficient, and there are two excellent singer-guitarists who play there Thursday through Sunday.

Really good food, great staff, and a nice venue. Overall, a really great price too.

I enjoyed the food but we came in for a get together of 17 people from family’s wanting to pay their own bills, but were told there would only be one bill for the whole table. The waiter said it was the restaurants rule but I believe it just to lazy to make individual bills. I will never plan a big get together there ever again.

Was disappointed. The restaurant was almost empty and the service was slow. Asked for a straw and the server never came back with one. I had to go to the bar to get it. The food was good until I noticed the guacamole was turning black. I had already ate some. Yikes! Parking is not good as well. The bathrooms we're dirty and smelled bad. The restaurant is old and worn out. We won't return to this restaurant.

Service was good for the most part. Food is okay. Enchilada is good, the cheese is a good melty, gooey but not stretchy. Rice and beans flavorful.

Consistently greasy and overpriced. I've come back few times just to see if it might get better, but the food quality is just poor, and then $27 for fajitas was the last straw (be careful, the prices are NOT listed online for all items, if you're ordering to-go). Never going back here again.

Good Mexican food and reasonable prices. Great atmosphere with a strolling guitar player. Adequate service.
